Components were scarce, and what was available was readily scooped up by scalpers, crypto miners, and struggling gamers alike. While we’ve just about looked through almost every review from 2021, we figured it was worth including a final review from early 2022 to compare.
February 21st, 2022. Techaeris’ released their review of the CLX Ra Custom Gaming PC, and with a few months of time testing the system, they ringed in 2022 by awarding us yet another Editor’s Choice. Specs broken down this in this much detail are rare for a review, so big thanks to Techaeris! Now this is just one system in the vast sea of available components and configurations we offer. But with CLX Temper Open-Loop Liquid Cooling, an Nvidia RTX 3090, a Ryzen 9 5900X, sporting a Ra Evolve X Foundry II Chassis, with custom CLX Space themed paint; you know this beast stands above the rest. Fortunately designing any system is quick and easy with our custom configurator, whether you’re looking to go all in on a dream system or keep things quaint. Our configurator assists with designing any system and handles things such as compatibility, scaling, and more. It shows you any potential conflicts and will prevent ordering systems that are made of incompatible components.
Techaeris continue forward with an in-depth review of their particular CLX Ra, covering the many ports and features offered by the Evolv X Chassis. For the full list of these features on this build, we recommend checking out the original article here. One thing we would like to reiterate specifically regarding open-loop cooled PCs, is to be mindful of component upgrades or additions down the road. Adding something as simple as an additional M.2 NVMe SSD to this unit would require draining all the coolant, as an example.
Another thing unique to open-loop systems is the potential for leaks. While it’s certainly not common, it is possible for fittings to become loose, even just a tiny bit during shipping. Leaks in an open-loop liquid cooled PC can cause a myriad of potential issues, fortunately for Techaeris, their issue was minor. And a quick chat with support had the leakage remedied with no further issues.
Fortunately, that about summarizes any issues or negative feedback from this particular article, while we’ve love to make everyone love the custom paint on this unit, taste is personal. As Techaeris wraps up their article, we would like to echo their sentiment that if you are an avid gamer looking to get into gaming desktop customization, we are here to help! Why not head on over to our selection of customizable desktops and configure one yourself!
